What are Butterfly Koi? Butterfly Koi are very popular with Iowa Koi hobbiests because of their long flowing fins. Butterfly Koi have very long Pectoral Fin, Anal Fin and Claudial fin (tail). They also have pom pom nostrils, and longer barbels. They are a crossbreed between Koi and Indonesian Longfin wild carp Their fins are very similar to that of Comet goldish. Traditional koi have a torpedo shape while Butterfly koi tend to have rounder shapes. Here is a sample photo of what you might expect from Butterfly Grade Koi

How To Buy
To buy Online, enter the number you want to buy, then click "add to cart" and follow the online screens for payment. Once you pay, you should receive a confirmation e-mail within 24 hours. koi they will be shipped on a Wednesday or Thursday with Arrival the next day.


If you are interested in buying some koi from us in person at our Toddville Iowa farm E-mail me or call me at (319)213-6295. It is by appointment only. Appointments ensure that you will have one on one time without interruption. If you plan on purchasing koi, please make sure your water is at least 60F. My PH is 7.4. My KH is 120ppm. I have pure oxygen and bags and will double-bag your koi for you. They can last in these bags all day.
 
Fall is here!! Koi need time to aclimate to new fish and new surroundings before going into winter, and for this reason, we do not recommend buying koi this late in the season unless you have indoor ponds or live in a warmer area.
